Terra Beanie PDF english version
The Terra Beanie is a pretty, baggy beanie, which fits perfectly due to the wide, double ribbed hem. The beanie is knit with double thread Alpaca 1 from Isager Garn and 1 thread thin silk mohair or 1 thread Tvinni or 1 thread Alpaca 2 from Isager Garn and 1 thread silk mohair. The beanie has a wonderful soft colour change, as you exchange the thread of mohair at the transition from ribbed hem to the part knit in stockinette stitch. You might as well knit your beanie one- coloured. The beanie can be worn with either right or wrong side facing outwards.
Fits a head circumference of approx. 54 – 60 cm
50 g Alpaca 1, 800 m/100 g or 50 g Alpaca 2, 500 m/ 100g or Tvinni, 510 m/100 g all from Isager Garn held together with e.g. Kid Seta 210 m/ 25 g from Gepard Garn or Silk Mohair 212 m/25 g from Isager Garn.
The pictured model is knit in Alpaca 1, colour Peach and Kid Seta, colour 220 Caramel (ribbed hem) and colour 1007 Brandy (stockinette stitch part). When knitting a one- coloured beanie, 1 skein of mohair (25 g) is enough.
You can choose any other yarn, as long as you obtain the correct gauge.
The beanie’s ribbed hem is knit on circular needle 4 mm (40 cm), the stockinette stitch part on circular needle 4,5 mm (40 cm). When reaching the beanie’s top with decreases, change to circular needle 80 cm and knit with magic loop method. I recommend interchangeable circular needles.
The beanie’s ribbed hem is worked in rib (k1, p1) in the round on needle 4 mm. The part knit is stockinette stitch is worked on needle 4,5 mm.
Gauge for rib on needle 4 mm: approx. 23 sts x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Gauge for stockinette stitch on needle 4,5 mm: approx. 19 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
