Description

Lucia Sweater Pura Mollis is a feminine, oversized drop-shoulder sweater worked in stockinette stitch. The sweater features decorative edges - across the shoulders on both the front and back, and as finishing details at the body and sleeves. The edges are knitted in a beautiful stockinette pattern with the reverse side facing outward, interrupted by rows of chain stitches. At the bottom of the body, the overlapping edges form a slit at each side.

The shoulders, attached sleeves, and boat neckline are all gently shaped with short rows. The sweater is designed with a slightly long, boxy fit, and the sleeves have a somewhat slimmer look with decreases down to the elbow. Since the sweater is worked from the top down, it is easy to adjust all lengths to suit individual preferences.

Video tutorials for all techniques are available in the pattern.

Materials

150 (150) 200 (200) 250 (250) 250 (300) 300 g Spinni (300 m/50 g) held together with 100 (125) 125 (150) 175 (175) 200 (200) 225 g Silk Mohair (212 m/25 g). All yarns from Isager Yarn.

The sweater shown is knitted with one strand Spinni in color 36 held together with one strand Silk Mohair in color 36,

You will also need two removable stitch markers (safety-pin type).

Recommended Needles

Circular needle 4 mm (80 cm) for stockinette stitch, worked both flat and in the round, with one strand Spinni held together with one strand Silk Mohair.

The borders (top of front/back, sleeve, and hem edges) are also worked on 4 mm needles.

You will need a 3 mm crochet hook to give the neckline a neat finish by crocheting a round of single crochet stitches.

I recommend the Magic Loop method for knitting the sleeves and sleeve borders. If you do not use Magic Loop, you will also need a 4 mm circular needle (40 cm).

Gauge

18/19 sts × 27 rows = 10 × 10 cm on 4 mm needles in Stockinette stitch (flat and in the round)
